This is a free event that is open to both male and female players that are 11 year of age and up

 

Each player must bring a signed waiver to the game.

Be Safe

  • All participants will wear full hockey gear which includes, helmets, elbow pads, shin pads, shoulder pads, cup protectors, 
    breezers, mouth guards.  

  • Referees will be present on the ice but no penalties or off-sides will be called during the game.  

  • There will qualified adults on the player’s benches that will structure the teams so there is equity in size, skill and age on the ice at any given time. There will be no more than 5 skaters and one goalie on the ice for each team at any given time. 

  • There will be 2- 20-minute running-time games with a resurface at the end of each Game. Game 1 begins at 10:20 AM and Game 2 begins at 12:05 PM Game 3 begins at 1:40 PM a 4th possible game will begin at 3:35 PM . Depending on numbers, some players may play in multiple games.

  • The game will start with a face-off at center ice. After a goal is scored, the referee shall retrieve the puck and continue the play by providing the puck to a player from the opposing team (no face-off). 

  • If there is blatant or inappropriate behavior by anyone on the ice or on the player’s bench, the referee shall issue a verbal warning to the offending player. After the first warning, the player may be ejected from the game and/or the bench, at the sole discretion of the referees. If a player is to be ejected, the referee will whistle the game to a halt and the time clock will stop while the ejected player leaves the ice. Following an ejection, the game will resume with a face-off at center ice. 

  • All participants will sign a Waiver of Liability prior to going on the ice. Waiver of Liability may be found online at the registration site. We will have waivers available to fill out on site.  All players under 18 must have a parent sign the waiver.  Waivers will be presented to us by the time of the skate. 

  • The program will be managed by the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center (EDHC) staff and the event operated by volunteers.

  • There will be no entry fees for the players or gate admission fees for the spectators. Free-will offering will be accepted at the door. A Chuck-A-Puck contest will be offered, and event-specific clothing sold to raise funds. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO A LOCAL ORGANIZATION to be used for their suicide awareness program.
